The Fraternal Order of Police

The FOP is a national organization which promotes public safety and awareness, and which serves law enforcement officers by representing their needs and interests to appropriate levels of government, by proposing and supporting legislation which addresses their requirements, and by recognizing outstanding achievements of law enforcement personnel in the local community.  More at National FOP site

The FOP in New York

The first FOP lodge in New York State was opened in 1979. Today, New York State boasts more than 19,000 members. In some parts of the country, the FOP is the bargaining agent for police officers, but in New York State, the FOP is a fraternal organization, not a union. More at NY State FOP site

Jason Conklin Memorial Lodge 957

Our Lodge was formed in 1997, shortly after local Police Officer Jason Conklin was killed in a line-of-duty accident. in Tuxedo. We met at first in the AOH hall in the Village of Monroe, but moved to the American Legion "488" building on Lakes Road several years ago. We currently have more than 200 members, mostly police officers, active or retired, who either live or work in Orange County.
