President's Message - Fall 2011

Fellow Members,

I am pleased to announce that the “Wild for Wings” fundraiser was a huge success and that the lodge is well on its way to having the necessary funds to erect a second Orange County Law Enforcement Memorial wall. My sincere thanks to Trustee Bill LoMeli who ran an excellent and well organized event. I would also like to thank all of the Executive Board and lodge members that either attended or helped out. It makes me very proud to part of an organization that has such a dedicated and conscientious membership
.

Just to recap the summer, we had our best attendance ever at the Hudson Valley Renegades game. Over ninety members of the Lodge along with their families and friends attended the game and enjoyed a great evening of baseball, food and fun. On a serious note, we raised $750 at the June meeting to assist our fellow FOP members from Joplin, Missouri that were devastated by the deadly tornado that struck their community. I have received a card from Lodge #27 expressing their heartfelt thanks for our generosity. The current Executive Board was elected to another two year term at the September meeting. We appreciate your confidence in us and look forward to another successful term.

Looking forward, we will be having our 2nd Annual Oktoberfest themed meeting on Monday Oct 10th. German food, beer and music will be the order of the night, so put on your lederhosen and come on down! Also, the Health and Welfare Committee will be collecting items to send to our servicemen and women deployed overseas for the coming holiday season. Finally, the 2012 dues renewal period is upon us, so please submit your renewal in a timely manner. I appreciate your continued cooperation as it enables us to receive our State cards faster.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact me at my personal email www.fop957@gmail.com with your thoughts, suggestions and comments as to how we can better serve the members.
I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting, and please bring a new member with you.

Fraternally,

Mike McGinn
President
